When is the most dangerous time to be in the sun?

As your children gear up for school holidays activities this summer, it's likely they'll be out and about in the sun for long periods of time.
Everyone knows about the dangers that prolonged sun exposure can bring, but have you thought about how the level of risk can change according to the time of day?
The sun's UVB rays are the type that can cause the most damage to our skin, and these rays are particularly potent at specific times. You should avoid the sun between midday and 2 pm if possible, as this is generally regarded as the most dangerous time to be exposed to the sun.
However, it pays to cautious when you're outside at any time of the day, and experts believe the sun's rays can be just as harmful from 10 am to 4 pm.
The amount of time you spend outdoors can have an impact on your sun safety as well. If you're going to be outside for a while - perhaps enjoying a long game of cricket - make sure you're properly covered up, wearing a hat and reapplying your sunscreen every couple of hours.
It's important to take preventative measure if you're out in the sun when its rays are at their strongest. To avoid getting any nasty burns, your safest bet is to be indoors and enjoying a round of team bowling in the air-conditioned comfort of ZONE BOWLING!
And it's perhaps a good thing that these times coincide with the peak lunch period. Why not make a whole occasion out of it and fit lunch into the equation as well, choosing one of our great meal deals to snack on while you bowl the day away?
