Why should you include team uniforms at your office bowling party

Ask anyone who's ever put on a Batman costume: The things we wear have a huge impact on the way we feel and the way we act. As it happens, there's actually a psychological basis behind this. Speaking to USA Today, professor Richard Petty explains that wearing certain clothes can actually affect your actions:

"Clothes can be one example of something that can activate thoughts in our head, but then once those thoughts in our head are activated or primed then those primes can affect how we interpret the world around us and ultimately our behaviour."

While this undeniably applies in a daily office setting, you can use it to your advantage for the next Work Christmas Party too! Team uniforms will encourage a sense of unity and camaraderie amongst employees as well as have them feeling like bowling champions.

Retro bowling shirts

As seen on the Dude in the Big Lebowski and Charlie Sheen in literally every Two and a Half Men episode, the fifties-style bowling shirt is a classic. Either order a matching set online or make them yourselves, with old clothing.

For this option, you'll need a plain shirt and some patterned fabric. Using a seam ripper, remove the pocket and collar of the shirt and make new ones out of your fabric choice. The patterned material should also be sewn onto one-half of the front of the shirt, to create that iconic colour-block bowling look.

Iron-on patches and prints

But let's be honest - unless you're Tim Gunn, you probably avoid sewing as much as you can. In this case, iron-on patches or printed T-shirts are an infinitely less time-consuming way to make a bowling uniform for your team.

First, create a ten pin bowling logo with your team name - think 'Who Gives a Split?!' or 'Pin Heads'. Print this out onto transfer paper, then all you have to do is iron them onto your shirts!

Santa's Little Helpers

What's the perfect Work Christmas Party Idea for your office? Well we think you can't go past one of your most jolly team members as Santa Clause and the rest of the team as either reindeer, little helpers or a whole bunch more Santa Claus!

You will not only be a hit in the venue with our team, but the amazing outfits will make for even better photos when it's time to reminisce on the Christmas Party.
