The opportunity to participate in Australia’s R U OK? Day is a great way for everyone to be part of starting a conversation around Mental Health. The R U OK? Day is a fantastic initiative, that has produced some incredible outcomes, and if you follow the founders of the organisation, has an incredible back story and is something that ZONE BOWLING wanted to be a part of!

For those of you who do not know the background to R U OK?’s vision is a world where we're all connected and are protected from suicide.

Their mission is to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them and support anyone struggling with life.

Their goals are to:

1. Boost our confidence to meaningfully connect and ask about life's ups and downs

2. Nurture our sense of responsibility to regularly connect and support others

3. Strengthen our sense of belonging because we know people are there for us

4. Be relevant, strong and dynamic

We want to take this opportunity to provide our team with a better understanding of the R U OK? Day initiative and demonstrate ways that you can get involved. R U OK? Day is simply a way to get a conversation started between each of us and only positives can come from talking more to each other.

This initiative is simply about talking – we invited members of our team to take time out and sit down with a fellow team member from another department and have a chat and a coffee and ask the question “Are You Ok?”. We saw team members from finance and marketing, Managers and executives all meet up to chat about each other and start a conversation.

The day was a success with team members also showing up in their best yellow clothing and being bright and bold in the office!
