From the screen to the alley: It's a bowl-a-thon party!

Just can't get enough of bowling? Neither can we! One of the best ways to get pumped for a weekend bowling extravaganza is to throw a bowl-a-thon party.
Here's how it works
Invite all your mates round for an afternoon of watching these great movies about bowling, and then head on over to our bowling alley to play some games and reenact your favourite scenes. With the winter months rolling round, this weekend plan is a great indoor option for unleashing mayhem and having a (bowling) ball!
Over the years, Hollywood has filmed some epic movies about bowling. Here are just a few to get you rolling, whether that be rolling the tape or the bowling ball!
The Big Lebowski (1998)
Starring Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore and Philip Seymour Hoffman, this classic follows the story of Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski - a man who loves to bowl. He gets wrapped up in a case of mistaken identity when a millionaire with the same name gets a ransom threat from criminals who kidnapped his wife. What ensues is a hilarious movie as The Dude and his bowling buddies try and handle this mess!
A League of Ordinary Gentlemen (2004)
For every bowling-loving man and woman out there, this documentary will tug at the heartstrings. Filmmaker Christopher Browne directs this heart-warming story of a group of middle-aged men as they try to revitalise the sport and get people excited about watching it on the telly again.
Kingpin (1996)
Starring the comedic genius Bill Murray, this movie is about a pro bowler who loses his hand due to an injury but decides to get back into the bowling world twenty years later by mentoring a young Amish prodigy. The sense of humour may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for some this film will have you rolling around the floor in fits of laughter.
So curl up on the couch with some popcorn as your first course, then hop on over to ZONE BOWLING for more yummy food and best of all some bowling action!
